Your Kolet eSIM is a universal, multi-destination eSIM, which means you can use the same eSIM across many countries without needing to install a new one for each trip. ✈️. However, even though your Kolet eSIM works across multiple destinations, it can only be active on one phone at a time.
So if you want to use Kolet on a different device, you’ll need to generate a new eSIM on that new phone.
Want to move Kolet to a new device? 🔄
If you are changing phones and want to keep using your Kolet eSIM and data plans on your new compatible device, you can move your Kolet service by generating a new eSIM.
When you sign in to the Kolet app on a compatible new phone, you may see a message asking whether you want to use Kolet on this device.
Important before you continue ⚠️
Generating a new eSIM will permanently deactivate the eSIM installed on your previous phone.
That means:
your old eSIM will stop working
your data plans will no longer work on the previous device
your Kolet service will move fully to the new device
👉 Please only generate a new eSIM if you want to stop using Kolet on your previous phone.
What to do with the old eSIM?
If you still have your old phone 📲
Before generating a new eSIM, we recommend deleting the old Kolet eSIM from your previous phone to avoid confusion. This is not mandatory, but it can help make things clearer.
Once the new eSIM is generated, the old one will no longer work anyway.
If you no longer have your old phone 🤝
That’s completely fine.
You can still generate a new eSIM on your new compatible phone. The previous eSIM will be deactivated automatically during the process.
How to move your Kolet eSIM to your new phone ✨
On your new phone
Open the Kolet app and sign in to your account.
If the phone is compatible, you’ll see a screen asking if you want to use Kolet on this device.
Tap Generate a new eSIM.
Confirm that you understand the eSIM on your previous phone will be deactivated.
Follow the on-screen steps to install the new eSIM.
Once installed, you can use your data plans on the new device.
What you may see on your old phone 👈
If your eSIM has already been regenerated on another phone, your previous device may show messages such as:
Your eSIM is used on another device
eSIM installed on another device
a banner saying your data plans won’t work on this phone
This simply means your Kolet eSIM has already been moved and can no longer be used on the old device.
What happens if you tap “Maybe later”? ⏳
If you tap Maybe later on the new phone, nothing changes.
Your current eSIM stays linked to the previous device, and you can continue using Kolet there.
I want to use Kolet on two devices 📲📲
Kolet cannot be active on two phones at the same time from the same account.
If you want to use Kolet on two devices, here are the available options:
Option 1: Use two separate Kolet accounts
You can create a separate Kolet account for each device and install one eSIM per phone.
Option 2: Use one device as a hotspot
You can use the device with the active Kolet eSIM as a hotspot and share the connection with your other device.
Signed in on another device just to check your account? 👀
That’s okay too. You can log in to your Kolet account on another phone to view your plans, usage, or account information. If you do not want to move your eSIM to that device, simply do not tap “Generate a new eSIM.”
Your current eSIM will keep working on the original phone.
