Seeing a “PDP Authentication Failure” error? Follow these steps to resolve the issue and get back online

📍 Are you at your destination?

Your Kolet eSIM will only work in the country or region you purchased it for.

📌 Check if you’re in the right place:

  • If you bought a Thailand data plan but are still in France, your eSIM won’t activate.

  • eSIMs do not work mid-flight: wait until you land at your destination before troubleshooting further.


🔄  Turn airplane mode on & off (or restart your device)

📌 Before anything else, try this first:

✈️ Turn Airplane Mode ON for 10 seconds, then turn it OFF again.

🔄 Restart your device: this forces it to reconnect to the network.

This can help your phone refresh its connection and fix authentication errors.


🌍 Enable Data Roaming

For Kolet to connect, data roaming must be ON.

🍎 On iPhone iOS devices

  • OPEN Settings, then TAP Mobile Service (UK) or Cellular (US)

  • SELECT Kolet eSIM in SIMs sections

  • SCROLL and TOGGLE the switch Data Roaming

🤖 On Samsung Android devices

  1. GO to Settings app and TAP on Connections

  2. TAP on Mobile/Cellular Networks

  3. Then, TAP on the switch to ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE Data Roaming

👾 For Google Pixel Android devices

  • OPEN Settings on your device

  • TAP on Network and Internet

  • TAP on SIM

  • TAP on Kolet

  • ENSURE that Data Roaming is Turned on


📅 Check If Your Data Plan Has Expired or Is Fully Used

If your plan has expired or you’ve used all your data, your connection will stop working, and you may see this error.

📌 Check your data balance in the Kolet app:

1️⃣ Open the Kolet app

2️⃣ Go to the Home tab

3️⃣ Check if your plan is active and has remaining data

⚠️ If your plan has expired or is depleted, you’ll need to top up or purchase a new plan.


🔧 Make Sure Your APN is Configured Correctly

An incorrectly configured APN (Access Point Name) can cause a PDP authentication failure.

If your device isn’t connected to a Kolet-supported network, switching manually can help.
