check if my device is carrier locked

Updated over a week ago

💡It's essential to ensure that your device isn't carrier-locked, even if it's eSIM compatible. Sometimes, when you purchase a device from a carrier under a financing or leasing plan, it's locked to work only with their network.

If you have any doubts about this, you can follow the instructions below:

🍎 For Apple iOS devices

  1. OPEN the Settings

  2. TAP General

  3. TAP About

  4. SCROLL and look for the Carrier Lock field

If No SIM restrictions appear next to Carrier Lock, then your device is unlocked.🎉

🤖For Samsung Android devices

  1. OPEN the Settings

  2. TAP Connections

  3. SELECT Mobile/Cellular network

  4. TAP Network operators

  5. TOGGLE off the Select automatically

  6. If you see a list of carriers pop up when your phone searches for networks, your phone is unlocked. If you only see the name of your current carrier, your phone is carrier locked.

👾 For Google Pixel devices

  1. OPEN the Settings

  2. TAP Network and Internet

  3. SELECT Internet

  4. TAP your Kolet eSIM

  5. TOGGLE off the Automatically Select Network

  6. If you see a list of carriers pop up when your phone searches for networks, your phone is unlocked. If you only see the name of your current carrier, your phone is carrier locked.

You can also reach out to your mobile carrier provider or the company you purchased the device from and ask them directly.

Get instant 24/7 support from our assistant, or connect with one of our expert agents on the Kolet app- They will be delighted to assist you! ✨
